6 months old!

I can hardly believe my Ky Ky is now 6 months old! He turned six months on May 15th. We just had his check-up yesterday and he's still the same, tall, skinny Winterton he has always been! He weighed 15 pounds 11 ounces and was 27 inches tall. Here are a few things he can now do as a "big boy".

-Successfully roll over both ways

-Sit all by himself

-Army crawl

-Babble like crazy

-Smile on demand

-Eat solid foods-he LOVES bananas!

-Drink from a sippy cup-he loves that too!

-He loves the pool and to go swimming

-He is getting his first two teeth-they're ALMOST here! (Thank goodness, a teething baby is NO fun!)

-Of course, put everything in his mouth, but can transfer things from hand to hand

-He has already mastered picking up every single piece of whatever off the floor

-If Kyler could be anywhere-he would be outdoors, he loves being outside!

Well, that's it for now! I can't believe he is getting so big! He has his 6-month pictures on Saturday, so I'll have to post those once I get them! It's hard to imagine my life without him, he is so fun!!

~Green River Trip~

When thinking of Green River, what do you think of? Maybe the desert, probably watermelons...well that's what I used to think of....until this past weekend! Now I think of rafting down the Green River, horseshoe matches, badmitton (not sure how to spell it), spandex game, crying babies, lots of yummy foods, 4 wheeling and jumping into the river off the tire swing! If you couldn't tell, we were able to take a trip down to Green River this past weekend with Terrell and Shelby (Deric's brother and his wife). Shelby's family was staying at a house down there that's literally right off the river. Deric and I weren't sure we really wanted to go-simply because we have SO much to do on our house right now, but we decided to go anyway and I'm SO glad we did! Here are a few pictures from our trip-it was a blast! I think the highlight of the trip, besides just getting to relax, was thinking we were going to go off a huge drop-off on the river-TOTAL freak out from the 4 of us!! hahahaha

This is Owen trying to get out of the boat, no worries though, Kyler is right behind him!
This is me swinging into the river-it was cold but the worst part was right when you hit the water you had to start swimming to shore so you didn't get swept down river.
This is Kyler sitting on a fake elk they had in front of the house, although everyone kept calling it a moose
Deric swinging into the river.... it was a fun trip!!!

One year ago....

Well, it was one year ago yesterday (May 14th) that we moved into the basement apartment we are currently in. Living in West Jordan has been a trial for me for sure! The first picture is our make-shift kitchen right now. It's in what we call the tile room. Half of it will eventually become Kyler's bedroom, the other half, our dining room.
This is our kitchen in progress...a year and still no kitchen. I just barely got the sink this week! WAHOO!! No more washing dishes in the bathroom sink!

Just another angle of the going-to-be kitchen. You'll notice we do have a dishwasher and a microwave. They just don't work yet. haha Deric told me to use the dishwasher as a drying rack for when I do dishes and yesterday morning was the first time I washed dishes in my new sink, so I pulled out the drawer in the dishwasher and the WHOLE diswasher fell out of the cabinet-ya pretty sure it's not hooked in right! haha

This is our ghetto tree-house, it would be pretty sweet if it was fixed up. Maybe someday....

This is our BBQ pit, it's kinda hard to see, but it has a rock fountain and a HUGE BBQ grill-we love it!! Behind it is the 3-car garage with our landlords' boat and rock crawler in in.
I didn't get a picture of the pool, but we love that too! It has a water-slide and it's so fun to be able to go swimming whenever we want to! We spend many nights out there! Kyler loves it too!!

And this is the front version of our house (of course we live in the basement). The 2 car garage is to the side of it. Man you should have seen it a year ago, there were SO many trees in the front yard you could hardly see the house! We just cut them all down a few weeks ago. This year has definitely been interesting. We still share a washer and dryer with our landlords and we have laundry days. (I don't mind it too much, at least it makes me get the laundry done cause I know I have to!) We now have our own outdoor entrance even though it is from the back yard. We're getting closer to getting a kitchen and a second bedroom for Kyler. It's been fun and we've been able to save a lot of money on rent by living here. It's a pretty big basement apartment-with the kitchen and all, it's 1600 sq feet. Although, having that big of an apartment, just means we buy more stuff that we don't technically need. haha Well, that's it folks! That's the tour of the house so far! Hopefully I'll have more pictures to post soon that will show the FINISHED kitchen!! We're doing all the work ourselves, so that's why it's taking so long. It was hard having Deric in school cause he never had time to work on it, although it didn't help that whoever built the house was a complete RETARD! (explanations later). Anyway....just thought I'd share our move-in anniversary with you all! :)

No new job!

Well... I'm at it again....searching for a new job. The job listed in my previous post is actually an amazing job, but I decided not to take it. Some of you may be wondering why if it's so awesome, but I promise, I have a good reason. The job paid great, had great benefits and a flexible schedule. However, it was strictly marketing and most of it was outside the office. It really stressed me out and I decided that it just wasn't the job for me. So after I had already been through training this morning and accepted the job, I had to drive back out there and give them back the supoplies they had given me. When I went to the office, they told me they really want me to stay and that they really liked me-so guess what! They offered me a part-time in-office position. However, they wanted someone who could just come in when they were short handed and I decided I needed something more permanent. I told them I wanted 10-15 hours a week and I told them the amount I had to make (otherwise it would be pointless). They said they would look into things and think about it and give me a call back. Well... they called back and decided they couldn't give me that position because I needed something more permanent than they were looking for. :( I was SO excited at first! oh well.... so I'm back to the start-still searching for a new job! So if anyone knows of anything in West Jordan or Midvale or something close to there, let me know!!

Oh haha I just have to tell my story with an interview last night. So I've been looking mostly on Craigslist for a job and I found one hiring really close to my house. The ad said "starting at $16/hr in a friendly, office environment. Needed to answer phones and questions. Interviewing today, starting training tomorrow! Call to schedule an interview!" So I decided, what the heck, why not? (Mind you, I was still planning on taking that other job). So I scheduled an interview for 6 p.m. so Deric could watch Kyler. I got all ready and went to the interview. While I'm filling out an application, all I hear is cussing and swearing coming from the back and I was thinking, what the crap-that is SO not professional! So after I fill out the application, i'm just waiting to go in for an interview and there was a guy sitting by me that worked for the company. He starts talking to me and tells me that their company is selling Kirby vacuums and that they ad was just to get people in their office. So in other words, their ad was lying and it made me so mad! I told them I thought it was ridiculous and thanked them for wasting my time! So basically-it was so lame! They lied just to get people into their office!!! RETARDED!!!

NEW JOB!

Well... in response to a previous post-I got laid off at work and it was REALLY hard for me. I looked into going to school, but decided it wasn't worth the money RIGHT now. In otherwords, I'm going to try some in the fall. But for right now-I'm going to continue to work! I've been looking the last few days for a job and sent my resume to a lot of different places. There was one in particular I was REALLY excited about. It's working for a chiropractic office (just part time) but it pays a dollar and a half more than what I was making, has benefits and free chiropractic for employees (which if you know me-I need ALOT). Their ad on Craigslist said to apply in person, so yesterday I got a babysitter and drove out there (it is a little bit further away, but still pretty close). And guess what!?! I got hired right on the spot! The doctor didn't know a lot of details because it's a new position they're just opening but I start on Monday! Hopefully it will all work out and I will get to keep it! I can't work more than like 15-20 hours a week because of babysitting (and I don't really want to) so hopefully we can figure something out!!! But I am SO excited! It's not my ideal job but it works! Keep your fingers crossed for me that it will all work out!!!

Life just sucks!

Well, yesterday was a very emotional, trying day for me. I got laid off from a job that really worked well with my schedule. I was able to work in the office twice a week for 5 hours each day and then I worked from home the rest of the time. It was great for being a new mom and I loved it! I couldn't have asked for a better job to work with me that way. I'm really sad that I had to get laid off, unfortunately, people just aren't buy candles at the moment! So now I need a little advice. I have my Associates Degree and have always wanted my Bachelors and it's someting I set as a goal for myself and just haven't been able to achieve it yet, due to my adorable son coming into our lives. I'm debating whether I should try to take some online classes or try to find a new job. I would do both, but basically it's summer, I love being a mom and I don't want to bring that much stress into our lives at the moment. With school comes more spending, with a job comes more money. Which to do?!?! Not to mention I may not even be able to find a job that will work with me part time and be flexible. WHO KNOWS! However, another factor is that we are planning on getting pregnant again at the end of this year, should that have a play in my decision? I just don't know what to do!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!
