Day 10

Songs you listen to when you're bored, mad, sad, happy, hyped...

Well... to be honest, I don't really listen to much music, but my radio stations change depending on my mood :) When I was in high school I frequently changed but not anymore. My all time favorite song though when I feel like NOTHING is going right is "Don't Worry Bout a Thing" from SheDaisy. (I posted about it previously)

Day 9

Something I'm proud of in the past few days....

well what's on my mind right this second is that I got 12/10 on my math quiz just barely! WAHOO! I really must be a good guesser cause I sure don't understand the material! haha Something else i'm proud of is that I have made it to week 32 of my pregnancy :) I don't really know what to put--I'm just excited about my math quiz! haha

Day 8

Short term goals for this month and why....

Well since October is basically over, I'm going to choose some goals for November :)

In no particular order:
1-Get over this head cold (preferrably sooner rather than later)
2-Get ahead in school (I'm WAY paranoid about his baby coming at the most inconvienient time)
3-Give Kyler a good B-day party (I think it's important to celebrate one's birth)
4-Do something special for Deric for our anniversary (cause I need to be better at showing him how much I love him)
5-Do something secret for someone (I want to try and do more service, it strengths the soul)
6-Take time to play with Kyler every day (he needs the one on one time, especially before the baby comes)
7-Finish the blanket from Bryson to Kyler (it just needs to get finished)
8-Prepare my Relief Society lesson better (they really do help me, I just usually procrastinate)

I think that's good for now.. I'm sure I'll think of some more later and will continue to post :)

Day 7

A picture of someone who has the greatest impact on you....
First, my amazing husband. I love him so much and he wants me to be the best that I can. He loves me for me and doesn't try to push me to be something I'm not. I want to be a good wife to him and be someone he is proud of.
Next, my adorable son, Kyler! He impacts me so much and although there are definitely times that I could go crazy, he has taught me alot of patience and a greater love than anyone can comprehend. I'm so excited to welcome Bryson into our home and I'm sure he'll teach me even more!
Last, but certainly not least, my family. This was taken a few years ago, but I can't begin to explain how much my family impacts me. They are the greatest examples I could ever have and have taught me so much. They have truly made me who I am today and I love them for that! They have put up with so from me, it's unreal. I love them so much!

I caved....

Well most of you know a few weeks ago I deleted my facebook account. I had found it was too time-consuming and that the drama found there was causing me more stress than good. So I deleted my personal account. However, I have since caved and am now back on only under "Deric-Leslie Winterton" So if you want to add us as friends, feel free since all the ones we have now are Deric's and I have no idea who they are!! My goal this time around... spend less time on there dealing with drama and more time just keeping up with friends!

Grateful

I just want to say how grateful I am for people who really care about me. As most of you know, this pregnancy has been a little harder than I thought it would be and I've really struggled with that, but I have had so many people who have helped me in so many ways! I've had meals brought (without me even asking), numerous texts and phone calls just to see how I'm doing and even some free babysitting when I really needed it. So thank you so much to those of you who have helped! It really means alot to me and please know that I truly am so grateful!

Day 6

Favorite superhero and why....

um.. I'm not sure I really have a favorite superhero. I was never really into that kind of thing but I guess I would have to say I have a different kind of superhero:

Day 5

Picture of somewhere you've been to
I haven't been too many places, someday I will travel more, but one of our favorite places to go is to California. We love to visit with people from Deric's mission and to visit one of the most GORGEOUS temples there is in Oakland! haha California also holds some personal "moments" where we first found out we were pregnant with Kyler! :)

Day 4

Day 4-A habit I wish I didn't have.... well... there are many! lol

-I still bite my nails when I'm bored... I hate it. I stopped for a while, but have since picked it up again. I don't do it when Im anxious or nervous, just bored.

-I analyze everything-and I mean EVERYTHING!

-I often compare myself to other people who have qualities that I wish I had (I know, it's dumb, but I do it)

Day 3

Well... we switched back over to our old PC after realizing we needed all the Microsoft programs for school so until we get those on the new one.. I am still using my old one which means I now have access to my pictures! Yay!

Okay... so Day 3... A picture of you and your friends
Deric is and always will be my best friend. And I'm kinda lame-sauce, but I don't have any pictures of me and my friends at least not recently. But I do love you Lynette, Steph, Amber, Jami, Hillary and Angela! :)

post poned

Okay... we got a new PC today and are trying it out to see if we like it. Unfortunately.... ALL of my pictures are on the other one. So my 30 days is officially post poned until I can get all my pictures back. It makes me sad. Oh well.

As for the rest of our lives right now... I am MAJOR sick. It sucks. I think I have a stomach flu and a head cold. Our trip to Holden this past weekend was fun other than getting sick. I have seriously never been so miserable on our drive back to Roosevelt. FYI there are LOTS of stop lights, LOTS of curvy, twisy roads and LOTS of ups and downs from Holden to Roosevelt-not so great on a upset stomach. We got home from Holden and I was SO glad! Then I started shivering and couldn't stop. I checked my temp and it was 102 so my nurse told me to come in. I decided to take a shower first and low and behold....my fever broke so I didn't end up going in to labor and delivery! WAHOO! My contractions were worse because of the throwing up but they have since calmed down. Now let's just hope it's a 24 hour bug and I'll be over it tomorrow! GOOD NIGHT!

P.S. Deric didn't even SEE anything this weekend... kinda bummed but oh well. Tonight my dad called and said they saw the big one.

Day 2

Yes.... I'm behind, surprise, surprise. I will get to all of these eventually-I promise! but in my behalf... I'm out of town so maybe tomorrow when I get home I will get caught up. I dont have any pictures so I'm just doing Day 2 right now. Our blog name is nothing fancy-actually quite plain. It's just our names! WAHOO!!! That was hard, right? haha

Well... we are in Holden for the deer hunt currently. Deric has yet to really see anything besides doe's so hopefully tomorrow morning will go better. Last night, the town flooded so we spent all night filling sand bags, trying to mop up water, air out carpets and clean out drains. It was a long night but we had fun still!

Day 1

Recent Picture and 15 interesting facts. Okay this is sad... this is probably the most recent picture I have (and it's nast!) and it's from JULY! I guess when you're the one with the camera, you don't take many of yourself. Maybe I'll take one today and post it later! :) haha who knows!

Pregnancy update

Well I have hit the 30 week mark-which is good! I'm getting ready to have this baby but not at the same time. I went to the doctor this morning and everything is pretty much the same as it was 2 weeks ago except my contractions are getting closer and my blood pressure is a little high. My doctor told me I need to de-stress my life and may possibly have to quit school although I really don't want to at this point. I still need to rest as much as possible and really try to keep Bryson in at least 6 more weeks. My infection is still here and isn't going away so I got another prescription for the same thing I already took and if it doesn't work, I'll have to do some other stuff but they can't really give me anything that won't affect the baby other than what I'm already on so if it doesn't work, then I'll basically just have to deal with it until the baby comes. I've had it a month already what's another 10 weeks right? Well other than that, everything seems to be going like it should. I'm measuring right on track and the baby is just a movin and a grovin! Here is a picture from my phone of my belly-sorry it's not the best!

Day 2...

Day 2 of no binky.... completed! We have taken Kyler's binky away and have made it through 2 days. I just hope I can continue to be strong when Deric goes back to work tomorrow-getting rid of a binky is HARD work! :) If anyone has any ideas in case the cold turkey method doesn't work for us... please let me know! Pregnancy update coming soon.... doctor's appointment in the morning!

In Heaven

We still have a big dirt pile outside our house from the addition hole that was dug. No lie, Kyler plays on it probably 3 times a day. He LOVES it and is in complete Heaven with all the dirt, shovels and trucks he can handle. He recently just figured out how to slide down on his bum-I told Deric we will have a sweet sledding hill for the winter right in our backyard! :) The bottom picture is just of my son cheesin it while wearing his "bling". Occassionally he goes through days where he wants to wear ALL my jewlery but since I learned my lesson the hard way, he now has play necklaces.

Kyler will no longer take baths-he LOVES showers! Deric introduced him to his first shower by himself last week and now we can't get him out of one! The other day, he learned that he could catch the water droplets on his tongue. He thought it was the coolest thing ever! Ha haha his first shower, Deric couldn't get him to get out so he turned the water to cold thinking Kyler would want to get out to get warm-nope! He just stood there shivering, grinning like he won the lottery and saying "Shower! Shower!" don't worry, I pulled him out and got him warm. It was just really funny!

Tiger-ROOOAAAR!

Kyler is going to be a Tiger for Halloween. I didn't want to buy a costume this year because last year I bought him the most adorable monkey costume and then he was sick so it didn't get used. I borrowed the only one that would fit him from my sister and that's how we decided. He LOVES it! He puts the costume on every single day. And everytime he wears it he says "Tiger-ROOOAAAR!!" It has a hood with a Tiger face on it and he won't wear it but simply plays with it like another stuffed animal.

McDonald's-where dreams are made!

The other day, I caved when me sweet boy kept begging me for ice cream. We didn't have any at the house so Aisha and I took him to McDonalds. He was in HEAVEN! haha he is such a goober. Now when you tell him to say "cheese" he sticks his chin in the air like the first picture and it's hard to get a good smile out of him. Quick story: Kyler was getting ice cream all over the table and I was wiping it up saying, "ew yucky". Well Kyler copied me by saying "ew yucky" right when a worker at McDonalds and 2 customers walked by. All 3 thought he was talking to them. The funny part was that the worker really was "ew" looking with yucky yellow teeth, not brushed hair and smelled of BO. And the 2 customers were 2 gay guys that were holding hands and kissing. Aisha and I couldn't stop laughing-especially when the worker started talking to Kyler asking why he thought she was "ew yucky". I was slightly embarassed but ultimately, lucky for me, my kid is young enough I just blamed it on the fact that he doesn't really know what that means.

Eating popsicles

Kyler LOVES popsicles. It can be 20 degrees outside and he would still want one. Here are a few pictures of eating one the other day-I thought they were cute! :) Sure makes for a happy boy! The last picture is my favorite!

Just what I needed...

I've decided my blog has become an outting for venting lately-sorry to anyone who might read this. But here's my story for tonight....

I have been working my butt off in school this semester, trying to do my absolutely best, especially in my math class. Math does NOT come easy to me and I really have to work at. So this week especially, I have been doing everything I can, practicing alot to prepare for upcoming test and quiz.

Tonight after class I took my quiz-spent almost the entire alotted hour on it and was satisified that I had 100% because I double, triple and even quadruple checked my answers. Low and behold-my score comes back and it is alot lower than 100%. I break down because, well, let's be honest, I'm pregnant and emotional and having a hard time dealing with the fact that I can't do everything I want to right now. I send a few discouraging and venting texts to my dear husband who is in his own class right now. Telling him that I should just give up-it's not working. My best just isn't good enough.

Right after my quiz, my mom calls just to say hi and see how I'm doing. She usually doesn't call this late, but felt she needed to. It was just what I needed. I get off the phone, feeling slightly better by the fact that I realize I just have to PASS this class. Who cares if I get an "A"?

Then I find a quote stashed under my keyboard that Aisha wrote down who knows how long ago that says, "When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place"-author unknown Just what I needed

Finally, I log onto Blogger and see that I have a few comments from some people that I know really care about me and their kind words were... Just what I needed.

So thanks to everyone who has listened, tried to understand, and been there for me through all my emotional fits! Someday.... maybe I won't be such a bawl baby! :)

Vent Session

Sorry, this post isn't going to have pictures either-I have some, I just need to upload them and I'm basically too lazy to at the moment. Our lives have been pretty crazy busy this last little while. School has been major stressful and with pregnancy complications, I'm not going to lie, it's been hard. I went to the doctor again this week and my cervix is starting to change-not good! Especially considering I have like um.... 12 weeks left! Anyway, i'm on bedrest to try and naturally decrease contractions. However, if they continue to come and my cervix continues to change, I will be put on medicine and STRICT bedrest. I know I need to do what's best for my baby, but seriously... I cant stop thinking about how bad that would be right now. I can't be on strict bedrest and still go to school and how am I supposed to take care of a toddler on bedrest? It just doesn't happen I don't think.

This past weekend with conference was great! We had a bunch of family out and I'm not going to lie, it totally stresses me when Deric's family all gets together. I won't say much more about that other than.. yes.. I am now getting another cold sore thank you very much!

Conference was amazing and I was lucky enough to be able to listen to most of it since Deric really helped with Kyler. What a sweet husband I have! He must have known I needed a spiritual pick me up.

We got a lot of work done on the rock wall-thank you Winterton brothers! But it still has a way to go. The weather has been rainy and dreary and therefore depressing for our outside work that still needs to be done before winter.

Kyler has started going potty by himself even more-wahoo! I love it! He is getting so independent and quite a talker. I can't wait until I'm done with school so I can spend more time with him and baby Bryson when he comes.

Anyway... our lives are pretty busy and hectic and the weeks seem to fly by but last forever at the same time-if that makes any sense. This upcoming weekend my mom is coming for a visit! Can you say AMAZING?!?! haha Let me explain... no one from my side of the family has visited since we moved up here. We have been here for over a year. So I think the guilt has finally gotten to them :) We do pretty well at putting my parents on guilt trips quite frequently about not coming to visit. I just wish they could've seen the house BEFORE we remodeled the whole thing. Oh well.... so goes life. I'm excited that she is coming.

Sorry this post is so boring, i just needed to vent about a few things and clear my head! :) Kyler has started his famous task of lining all his cars from smallest to biggest and has officially asked for "mom, picture" so that I can document it! haha pictures to come soon.....
